The Ulysses Gang Takes Some Sun and Shares Some Stats
From left to right: Tiny, Ace, Bert The Zoat, The Man From Gamma Gamma 4, Mad Dog Finnegan, Harrison Brock, Wide-Eyed Jake, Ulysses, Captain Krazac of the SLA, Mordecai Pank, Kern Proudbrow, Mauser, Jerry Grismak, Floyd Keif The LasCannon Gunner, and in front, Reese McGee.
The Stats:
Ulysses - Leader. Two Bolt Pistols, Tastefully wearing Carapace Armour

4 6 6 4 4 3 6 3 9
Addicted - Ulysses is a long-time user of Stim/Frenzon/Call it what you will. How he is still alive only adds to his myth and galactic appeal. At the beginning of each turn he must take a Ld test. If failed the drugs really kick in - D6 roll: evens - Stupidity, odds - Frenzy. The effects last until the beginning of his next turn.
Mad Dog Finnegan - Loyal (very Loyal) Bodyguard. Always in 2inches of Ulysses. If Ulysses gets killed (WHAT!??! - Never gonna happen!!), Finnegan rolls on the Monster Reaction Table from Warhammer Fantasy. (I love those reactions and I think this suits Finnegan very well.)
Finnegan dresses like Ulysses, wearing Carapace Armour. He carries an Autogun.

Wide-eyed Jake - Another former Space Marine Scout. Looks up to and is overawed by Ulysses and Finnegan. Likes to over-compensate! Bolter and Carapace Armour.

4 4 4 4 3 1 4 1 8
Bert The Zoat - The new addition to the gang. Doesn't say much. (Or really anything at all.) Unknown to the others is his irrational fear of Orks! Two Bolt Pistols.
M WS BS S T W I A Ld
7 5 3 4 5 3 5 2 10
Fears Orks. Tests on 3D6 taking the HIGHEST two!
The Squats ("Don't call us Squats!"):
Jerry Grismak - Autogun, Flak Armour and an attitude.
Mauser - Bolter, Flak Armour and cigar.
Floyd Keif The LasCannon Gunner - LasCannon and Flak Armour
All have the following profile:
M WS BS S T W I A Ld
3 4 3 3 4 1 2 1 9
All the Squats HATE Orks!
Captain Karzac of The SLA - Bolter, Flak Armour. Capt. K is the leader of the Squat group. They will only ever take orders from him and only ever use his Ld. If the Captain is killed the other Squats have sworn to immediately flee/leave the battlefield - the Greater Cause of The SLA must always be The Prime Concern!
M WS BS S T W I A Ld
3 6 5 4 5 2 4 2 10
Tiny - "Me Tiny and Me's Big! Har-Har" Tiny loves repeating this. It always cracks him up. He and Ace are very tight. If anything happens to Ace, Tiny will roll on the Monster Reaction Chart (Hey, any excuse to use the Monster Reaction Chart!) Ripper Gun.
M WS BS S T W I A Ld
6 4 3 5 5 3 4 2 8
Tiny Cause FEAR.
Ace - Very accident-prone. Thankful that Tiny is always watching out for him. Lasgun.
Rogue Trader Mordecai Pank - Lasgun, Flak Armour.
Harrsion Brock - is a great pilot. He can fly anything. Lasgun and Flak Armour.
All of the above three have the following profile:

4 3 3 3 3 1 3 1 7
Reese McGee - Pointman. Eagle eyes. Autogun.

Kern Proudbrow - It is all a giggle for Kern. He loves the pose of being a pirate and an outlaw. Laspistol and Shuriken Pistol. Mesh Armour.

The Man From Gamma Gamma 4 - An Adventurer. A Hero. A Mystery. Laspistol and Knife.

And not pictured in the above group shot,
XB-Tpr Gaxt - Gaxt avoids the sun as much as he can. Autogun and Flak armour.

Cool. A lot of fun figures here. great gang with lots of character! Ok, the humans and the Eldar are no problem. I'm going to have to get creative in finding minis to represent the Zoat, Beastman, Ogryn and Space Dwarfs, though...
ReplyDeleteHi Mouse,
DeleteThanks! I'm excited to see how you portray my gang - I loved the figures you choose to represent Asgard's army in our last game! Mouse, would you like to meet again this Saturday night, say around 9:30? We could do the set-up, and perhaps a turn or two, or more, in pseudo-real time?
Ah, chose!
DeleteSorry, Man! I felt a little tired when I got home last night--face-planted in my pillow about 18:30, didn't stir until about 06:00, so reckon I was more than a little tired...tonight I'm working on doing some simple conversions to represent your Beastman, squats and zoat. They won't be painted and they're not going to be super wonderful or anything, goal is just to make something that is a recognizable representative of what you've got... Saturday, post 9:30 sounds great!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Sorry about any work my gang is causing you. But I'm really looking forward to see what you have created! See you at 9:30 Saturday night.
ReplyDeleteHey, there!
DeleteHi Mouse,
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a delay before the comments appear. I keep having to close the blog, either yours or mine, and then come back to it before I see a new comment. Do you know of a more straight forward way of being in more pseudo-real time? Anyway, I'm all ready to roll. Good game, Mouse!
