Thanks, Springinsfeld! The basing choice was made because these rocks can all be found along the shore near where I live. And once I started basing things like that I couldn't stop because I like my armies all walking on the same ground (a bit of my OCD creeping in). Although for some of the historical figs, especially the older ones, I am now re-basing on pennies painted green, inspired in part by your figs in the Conan blog. I like that look a lot!
Thank you, thelostandthedamned! That Goblin horde is making quite a racket! And thanks for saying that about my poor crazed dwarf friend! His eyes were actually a happy accident. My "eye-brush" that I had being using for years had died on me so I was forced into using a different brush which caused my all kinds of frustration for many figs. That particular dwarf had his eyes done three different times until I ended up with his bug-eyed gaze. Unfortunately, it means that he is always freaking out!
Nice pictures....I like your standard basing effect. Simple gravel mix, but it works really well and standardises all the different armies.

DeleteGreat photos, they really bring those savage hordes to life! Especially liking the wild eyed stare of the dwarf in the final shot!
